Fantasy 2009
This collection contains the winning stories of the Best Fantasy of 2009 competition. Although I contributed two stories, Sheala and Last Night, it was the latter that won the contest. But let's start at the beginning - winning the biggest Czech literary fantasy contest, rather unexpectedly, brought not only a prize sword and the publication of the first independent novels, but also an obligation to write. The proof that (some) people enjoy the stories - possibly as much as I do - was a kind of moral duty.
The collection includes the first story about Harald, who investigates ritual murders in a settlement in the frozen north. But all is not what it seems, and Harald finds himself sinking into a swamp of lies to get to the bottom of things.
